5 Things I’ve Learned from Studying Nail Product Chemistry:
-
"3-free" is enough for a nail product to be considered good.
-
HEMA-free doesn’t automatically mean it's better. Sometimes companies replace HEMA with more dangerous but less well-known ingredients.
-
HEMA is a great component—well-researched and not dangerous if it's less than 35% of the formula. Of course, people with allergies will react to it, so it’s always important to check the ingredients and the SDS.
-
Good companies will always provide the SDS and won’t make up stories about "company secrets" to avoid giving it to you.
-
No nail product polymerizes 100%. Use high-quality lamps to reduce the risk of allergic reactions.
At Red Iguana, we always use high-quality ingredients and continually work on improving our products. I personally study to ensure I know what I’m doing and to maintain control over the quality of my products.
